  All units are located in the golf course (golf closed for winter) but close to 3 ski hills for winter skiing. Units are clean, well stocked and wonderful recreation centre. Very quiet family friendly environment

  The Mountainside Villas at Fairmont are a quaint place for a family getaway, however, the lack of updates and maintenance on-site are starting to show. The units are all dated and appear to belong in another decade (probably the 1990s). During a recent week-long visit, the Rec Center's pool and steam room were closed for our entire stay. Recent Google reviews suggest that the pool has been closed for some time, suggesting that maintenance is a concern (despite the high maintenance fees that villa owners pay annually). As a father of 2 young children, this was very disappointing. Equally disappointing was the lack of snow-removal and sanding on nearby pathways which, essentially, trapped us in our villa. When we did venture out, our toddler promptly slipped on an extremely icy path. We were told that this was the golf course is responsible for path maintenance which felt like a cop-out since the paths connect the villas to the Rec Center. This latest point brings me to my greatest criticism of Mountainside: the customer service provided. Whenever complaints were politely raised to their staff and/or management, the response was adversarial. "It's not our fault the paths are icy etc." As a paying customer, I don't appreciate delegation of blame, particularly when it is done so rudely. To their credit, 3 vouchers to the nearby hot spring pools were provided (over the course of our 7 night stay) in an effort to compensate for the pool being closed, however, these were not offered up freely. In fact, it generally felt like we had to fight for them. It's a shame that Villa owners are contractually obligated to pay for maintenance that is sub-standard and downright insulting that "owners" are not treated in a more respectful manner.

  We stay at Mountainside every year, as we have a family tome share there. The villas are clean and comfortable, although they are old and could use some renovations/upgrades. The rec centre has great amenities including a pool, hot tub, movie room, and games. Unfortunately the pool was closed during our stay, but we were given passes to the Hot Springs for the inconvenience. We enjoyed our stay as usual.

  The layout of the Villa is nice and clean but when we I call to book the rooms, I check to make sure that the pool would be open,as we have had it happened to us before on Riverside that the pool we closed, I was reassured that the pool would be open and no Reno's we're planned for our booking time. So when we arrived you can imagine how upsetting it was to fine out not only was the pool closed but apparently it always closes in January. So the person I spoke too right out lied to me, so I would still book with them! We came with a two year old and four year old, the pool was the MAIN reason we booked here! And to have been trick into booking with them is inexcusable. We were given two family passes for the main hotspring pool and free internet but that does little the change things. Having arrive to find this out and explain to my child who loves swimming more then anything that the pool he was so looking forward to swimming in was closed was heart breaking and truly wrecked our one and only vacation we will have this year. We did make the most if everything but we will not be booking here again.

  Great get away villas. Nice full service rec center with wally ball courts, racket, squash, tennis courts. Pools, hottubs, steam room and more. Great staff that will work to make your stay enjoyable and fun. Lots of activities and options. Great place to stay.
